Droxic built a Frontify application that uses generative AI to expand images beyond their original boundaries. Creative teams can produce channel-ready assets for social media, web, and print directly inside Frontify's Digital Asset Management platform, without switching tools or breaking their workflow.
A single campaign image rarely works across every channel. Instagram needs a square. LinkedIn wants landscape. A web banner needs extra background on both sides. Designers spend hours manually extending backgrounds, recreating edges, or producing multiple crops of the same creative.
The typical workflow means exporting assets from the DAM, editing them in a separate tool, then re-uploading the results. Every round trip adds time and introduces version control risk.
The goal was to bring AI-powered image expansion directly into Frontify, so creative teams could produce multi-channel assets from a single source image without leaving their existing workflow.
Droxic built a React application using the Frontify App Framework that connects Frontify's DAM with BFL AI's image expansion API.
The application sits inside Frontify's interface. Users select an existing asset, choose a target format (predefined social media dimensions or custom canvas sizes), and expand one or multiple sides of the image. The AI generates new content that matches the visual style and context of the original.
To give users control over the output, Droxic added prompt guidance for directing what the AI generates in expanded areas, prompt upsampling for improving generation quality automatically, and seed controls for making outputs reproducible across iterations. The application handles all AI processing asynchronously through REST APIs, keeping the interface responsive while generation runs in the background.
Final assets export as production-ready PNG or JPEG files.
